ZZP 1.0 PCM ???
What is Abuse Mode, & Differential Scoring Protection?
Differential scoring protection is when the PCM detects one front drive wheel spinning and the other not, like in a one wheel burnout. The pinion in our differentials is suseptable to scoring and breakage during that condition.
So when these modes are detected, the PCM pulls timing and shuts down injector fuel flow to lower the power in order to stop the abuse and protect the drivetrain.
I have a ZZP 1.0 in my 99 currently and have to say I wish I'd spent the extra $20 for the Intense standard PCM.
Reasons I can recall off-hand:
#1
My 1999 has performance and normal shift modes, but when I got the PCM back from ZZP the normal shift mode meant shifting 3-400 rpm higher than 'Performance shift' mode -hence, making it the normal mode -fix for that was for me to switch the buttons -easier than complaining to ZZP and sending it back in, causing a week of down-time on a car that was needed right then.
#2
It shifts a little too high for a car with stock valvetrain -sometimes the 2-3 shift takes place about 102 MPH -way to high with the stock gearing and valvetrain IMHO -should be down about 97-98 MPH tops.
#3
On a moderate throttle take off, allowing it to hit 3rd by 30 mph, then flooring it it won't down-shift unless I let off and hit it again or manually down-shift.
There are one or two other reason'* but I can't recall ATM.

Something else that crossed my mind. Will the Intense PCM allow for you to hold out a gear?
In other words the factory PCM will shift the car regardless of the shifter being in D or 123 once the RPM'* get to a certain point (4500 or so if I recall ). Or will not allow you to down shift until a certain RPM.
Not that I'm trying to hang onto each gear until the cars tacked out. But I can't stand the car trying to think for me & if I wont to stick the car in 2nd or 3rd & stay their until I wont it to change I would like to be able to.
