Hmmm, that'* all great info. This project of yours is going to be a great starting point for the rest of us. I know I have a slightly different application, but I'd love to port my TB similarly to yours, and the results of your testing will give me a better idea of what is involved in the process.
That shift kit is also looking mighty fine. When my tranny comes due for a rebuild, you can bet I'll be installing one.

The kit really isn't a do-it-yourself. It comes complete with a small booklet for each step and option. There are holes to be plugged (tap a drilled hole and install a plug), passages to be machined, etc.

Matt, you using the same shift kit as me?
95, I'm on the way to pick up the parts at lunch today (in about 15 minutes) and hopefully to pick up one of my ABS center caps as well, and have them look at my off-center steering wheel. They got it off slightly when they reassembled. Car tracks straight, it'* just annoying when going straight that the Steering wheel is about 5° to the left.

Holy COW! It'* getting better each time I drive it.
I drove 15 miles to Albany to pick up my busted trans parts, and went over to the parts store for my Mobil1 and K&N filter, then off to have it changed. The Manager of the lube place I go to is Ladd, owner of a 97 SSEi. He takes good care of my cars. Surfs here occasionally unregistered.
Anyway, had the lube/oil/filter/fuel filter/coolant flush done to finish off my top end work. On the way BACK, I accellerated from a 35 to 55 zone in 2nd with a nice gentle throttle up, then backed out of the throttle at 60.......Bump.....Bump.
Bump #1: 3rd gear.
Bump #2: TCC lockup. Within a half second.
Passed a Mercury Sable wagon on Highway 20 on the way back, and had virtually NO stuttler/flutter from the TB porting! Almost there!
