It'* LEARNING. Very well now. Had to scramble this morning for my lane against a Toyota Solara. I was already in 2nd gear, so I just rolled nicely into it to keep things gentle on the new trans. VERY little stumble or flutter, so the fuel curves are still actively learning the TB porting. I'm alot more encouraged than I was last night, even though we did see some improvements over the run.

The PCM relies on alot of information over time, including start/stop cycles in order to sort things out for default settings, and this is somewhat more difficult for the PCM considering the Jet Performance chip. But it IS doing alot better. Remarkably better. I had a 39° cold start this morning with a solid idle as well.

Shifts are EXCELLENT. I never thought I'd be bragging about my TCC lockup at 49mph, either, but it'* simply IMPRESSIVE. Don, the trans builder at Continental Transmission in Albany, is amazing. His knowledge and skills are simply the best. I'd heard this before from friends, and I've sent friends there (including Jseabert), but this is my first personal experience with them.

For those that haven't been keeping up, the NEW:

Rebuilt and flowmatched fuel injectors <1%
Custom Trans with all the goodies
Ported SC oulet, polished inlet
LIM port-matched to the heads
Exhaust Manifolds ported
TB ported

What else? I know I'm forgetting something.

Alright, now hurry and go race that GT next to you.

Can you tell any difference in sound when you get on it after you ported the blower outlet?

Glad to hear that things are going well. For clarification, are you running any kind of AFC right now or is the PCM able to get accurate MAF readings without one? Also, it would be useful to know what brand of tranny cooler you're running. I would definitely be interested in getting one if cost is reasonable.

I'll post all the trans details soon, including that cooler. Trans shop charged me $84 for it.

I just measured it as 12x12x1.5, and it might be this one:
http://www.tsscoolers.com/Merchant2/...=tru-coolthick

It is a Tru-Cool, and I just found out NASCAR runs these off the shelf.

This has a better description of how it works. It looks like fluid viscosity determines which path to take, not temp:

How about the AFC issue? Will the PCM be able to handle the MAF readings without calibration, or does that remain to be seen?

Remains to be seen. Keep in mind I have the JET Stage 2. It should have a better 'chance' of figuring it out than a stock PCM, and that'* what I'm counting on. Otherwise, I'll get it re-burned based on my scans with both TB'* (stock and ported). I will NOT run an AFC calibrator on my car. Too many problems with that.

I'd love to ditch my AFC 2.0. Advanced mode seems to have jumped ship. Just left with the flat curve.

I think we're kinda straying off course. Bill, wanna split this where you feel necessary?

Let'* yack it out. I'm going to start another TB topic when this one sorts itself out later. That'll be the green light to port at least for those running a Jet PCM.

Here'* my shift kit:

SK® 4T60E-Jr

4T60E
1991 up
Corrects light throttle converter shudder. Contains hardened
pins and "Tuff" accumulator piston seals to reduce clutch failure
due to pin and seal wear. 3rd clutch seal is self expanding.
The Trans-Go SK® 4T60E-Jr corrects light-throttle converter shudder. It contains hardened pins & "Tuff" accumulator piston seals to reduce clutch failure due to pin & seal wear. The 3rd-clutch seal is self expanding. Reduces 2nd clutch burnup. Fixes delayed 3rd cold. Saves worn valve body
Interesting, considering my 2nd gear clutches were FRIED beyond belief.

CORRECTS light throttle torque converter shudder. Contains hardened pins and tuff accumulator piston seals to reduce clutch failure due to pin and seal wear, self expanding 3rd clutch seals, PWM valve, lockup regulator valve and bushing. Comes with complete, easy to follow instructions.
