I installed mine a few weeks ago. It sits behind the bumper cover, under the stock location. Took a peek at it this morning, still looks decent after two weeks of salt and road muck. Getting good air, but not alot of debris where it sits. If you can find a garage for and hour and a half, you'll be set.
