Parts/Supplies for Tranny Swap
Hello Ben, I'll pick up your parts this week, no problem.
I guess I wasen't really paying attetion enough to think about what you guys are doing, meaning at Bob'*. Not being offensive to Bob either but ...
- would you like to do your swap at my house?
1. I have a three car garage and tons of tools.
2. If it starts to rain we can work inside the garage. music, bright lights... heavy tools like carts & welder.
3. I'm closer to my parts resource too.
The offer is on the table for you and Bob to think over....
I was just lookin over the last post you made about being apreciative, dude, its not a problem, I'm looking forward to it.
I was even thinging about making a engine stand that will hold the engine from the front motor mount under the crank pulley and from some of the real rans moun bolts but also being universal enough to also use the trans motor mount bracket holes. I was thinking about welding it up this week. That would be handy for mounting your engine and still being able to change out that rear main seal.
I'm also doing a performance trans build this week for a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP with a turbo 5.3 V8. I'll have it done before this weekend if the rest of his parts arrive.
I was also thinking we also need to re-band your CV boots, I use the good stainless steel clamps, Bob knows what I am talking about.
Anyway, Later...

Bob and I make a great team actually, except.... we are slow.. Steady as she goes I say.

******** edit...
I just got the Sants Joke.
We actually trust both of them, and the work is likely to be slow with Bob around. He tends to have a beer in his left hand all the time, and won't put it down.
Good luck to you guys. Can't wait for the pics and the road test.

I don't think so.
Never seen Bob with an alcoholic beverage in his hand. You guys are a tough crowd huh?
I can vouch for the beer guzzling Bob does. Doesn't seem to be sober many times that I call him. I've actually been thinking about calling AZAA on him.
Thomas...please...sign them up for a bay of your garage. You are awesome!

Thomas, that actually sounds really cool. We'll have to see what Bob thinks. Again, no offense to Bob, but it sounds like you have some really good resources over there should anything unexpected occur. Plus, being close to your parts source would be helpful as well.
Thomas, did you read Boost'* thread about the complete "lower conversion gasket kit"? ~$40 for oil pan, rear main, and tons of other assorted seals and gaskets. Did you already get the rear main, or should we look into grabbing one of these kits?
Thanks for the help, everyone. You all have nothing to worry about. Even without Thomas, Bob and I could get this done since I've resolved to stop being a whiney girl and just dive in. With Thomas'* help it'll be that much better

Hey......Geez, I don't log-in on a Sunday afternoon, and open this thread to find this
My drinking days are looooooooong gone. A wife, three daughters, and a real job have done me in. I don't mind an occasional beer (or rum and coke) once in a while, though. And I have learned that working on cars, here, in summer, in 110* heat and alcohol is not a real good way to keep the project moving.
Anyways, no offense taken to offering your garage, Thomas, and no offense in accepting, Ben. I am all for it, I just didn't want to burden Thomas and his family with our project....but since it has been offered, I KNOW that Thomas' place is immensly better equipped for this project than my place could ever be.
Let'* go for it.
