Pete, you DEFINETLY need to move that pipe. i'd cut it, or shorten the reducer, so the pipe is over some.
Update: Got my K&N X-stream RX-4750 today and DAYUMN!!!! This is the same filter bonnie94sse, willwren, and allmachtige have, and it'* a very nice filter. I've dremeled the hole bigger for my IAT, and it'* securely in the Filter now, the best possible reading spot.
Impressions on this filter over the other one? It'* much bigger, and blowing thru it was completely unrestrictive. It'* definetly a great filter, i'm very impressed with it. The sound is better then the old filter as well.
At low load, it'* the same volume as the ratty filter, but a lower tone, possibly to the bigger chamber in the muffler, but when you poke the loud pedal, and it'* under load (in gear) it lights the fire under the hood! Definetly louder, and it doesn't let up. Easily helps a lot at high RPMs, delivering much more air for more power. Underload, v8 comes to mind very quickly I got a few looks in T.O. with the other one, but lotsa people were wondering... Who'* driving that magnificent machine

Glad you got the filter Jason!! I knew you'd like it. When I get the smaller washer bottle, I'll be doing the CAI, and I'll try to trim the reducer or get a different (black) one. Then I'll turn the filter on it'* side so the 8" width will fill up all that space I'll have in the corner

That'* very do-able, you can set it a few inches lower supposedly with all the hardware that'* there already. Moving it shouldn't be too hard.
Damemorder knows how to drop it, i'll try to have him make a post on how to drop it.

I hate to go off topic for just a sec, but what models got a dual windshield washer tank and what models didn't?
On topic, that looks very nice Jason, are you going to try and isolate the filter so that you aren't pulling in hot air from under the hood?
