For me, the cost of the K&N is what did it. Sure, I wanted more performance, but I still wanted it to make *some* sense financially. I'm one of those guys who changed air filters religously... so moving to a K&N is actually a cost savings, in the long run. Since I plan on having my car around for another 170k miles on top of what it has now (if I can keep the rust away), only having to do a couple of 8 buck refills is a lot better than replacing a bunch of filters...

True. Decent regular paper filters here are about $11 each vs. $64 shipped for the K&N and a refill/cleaning kit. Won't take long to pay back at that rate.

Yeah, but I don't yet know how often I'll need to buy a new one. First one was included in the $ amount above.

It takes so little oil you'll probably get by on that one kit.

I didn't get one with mine...hmmm I use the same kit for Truck, Car and ATV

besides T-KEITH where can you (or me) buy a paper cone filter that will fit a 6" pipe.
