its a pretty good car. could stand with an alignment though. and dude i bought it from replaced the top rad hose because it had a bulge about a half hour before we met, and he didnt bleed the cooling system. so the car krept up to about 205 before i hit the highway and got the air flowing. (fans did turn on btw) the drive home was uneventful. as for the doors, the dents are shallow but there are many. he said whenever you would shut the door, the skin would come off at the back side. so he welded it back up (pretty decent welding job on that thin metal) and had the jamb repainted.

i believe the dents came from the skin flexing when it would pop off. anyway, im gonna try to pop the dents back out. if thats a no go, im going to just swap the doors from the old one.

he also said he had the trans flushed and filter changed at 100k. i honestly think it shifts better than my dads 99 with 78k on it.

sadly, i work till wednesday. so i cant drive it till then. no tags and by the time i get off work, itll be too late to go to the dmv

Replaced the vent valve at the rear of the car. I've been chasing an Evap code and this is the last cheap thing to replace. After this is charcoal canister, fuel filler neck, and the tank itself. Man I really wish this state didn't have emissions.

Also still can't figure out the damn wiper motor issue. After checking resistances and stuff based on the wire diagram I'm thinking I might have a bad front BCM that controls that stuff. Ugh.

Nick, have you tried replacing the wiper motor? The wipers stopped working in my century, and it turned out to be a bad motor/short on the circuit board on the motor.

Girlfriend said her check engine light came on in her 97 Buick LeSabre. Scanned the codes and got P0300 and P1406 with a rough idle. $150 and a new EGR later, it'* purring like a kitten that has a bad muffler. Probably need to go through and clean where the tube connects to the LIM and go through the throttle body, but at least I know she can make it to/from school until I can get it down to the shop for the oil change she is 1200 overdue for...

This is what I've done:

Replaced original motor with junkyard motor, no change.
Replaced junk yard motor with brand new motor, no change.
Replaced wiper switch with a new one, no change.
Ran an auxiliary ground wire to make sure I had a good ground, no change.
Tested power/resistance according to GM wiring diagram with all of these. That'* why I'm convinced I've got a bad control unit somewhere.
