I am with Mike on the idea of air horns, but dont want the expense of real train horn with compressor etc.
I just discovered that Wolo has just come out with their new model Big Bad Max model 619.
123.5 DB at 320 HZ which can attach to vehicle wiring with 15 -20 amp fuse installed with no additional relay, works then from factory horn button.
$46.45 at Amazon (Wolo model 619)
Here is a good demo on a little smart car that has a good sound clip that compares the old one to the new model 619..not bad!

Now is the time for me to try one out on the Jeep ! My stock horns sound like a Honda.

I just realized the smart car had both the regular bad boy & the new 619 max together.
Found another video with just the new 619 max on a Pontiac Grand am interesting.

i can vouch for wolo. i had a bad boy on my car (didnt like how high pitched it was) but it was loud as all creation. my dad has the chrome bad boy on his harley with a 127" engine and straight pipes and you can hear the horn with the bike revved up.

i have these horns.
Buy Wolo Trumpet Big Rig 417 at Advance Auto Parts

here is a video of them. as you can tell by my voice, that camera makes everything higher pitched than what it actually is. its my cheap kodak i keep in the glovebox.

Yup I bet they hear those Jason!
I wonder how the 619 wires in though really, just sent an email off to wolo.
Jeep has twin horns with 2 pos wires and 2 neg wires. Only 15 amp fuse- need 20 amp?
Probably have to wire in the 20 amp supplied relay and use one set of wires from stock horn etc to be able to use factory horn button.

with mine, ive just got a small compressor with male terminals on it. positive to positive negative to negative. just snipped the connector off the stock horns and put female connectors on the 2 wires. no blown fuses yet.

i just noticed you can see the red horns in my sig pic. lol.

Perfectly mounted behind the grille I might add!
Sweet!
Did your stock horns fail or just wanted to get something louder?
Overall on my 97PA they are ok, not super loud, but large sedan sound that is still pleasing.

stock horns werent actually the stock horns, plus they went out on my way home from work one day. so i just picked these up. i know they werent stock because my dads sounds more like a tugboat horn where my horn sounded like one in a pontiac.

I've been wanting the big air horns since I got my Fiamm air horn. Maybe some day lol.

I am working on a deal with tater for his Wolo bad boy, so I might ditch the cheap electric horns and just run that with my air horns.
