the 07 monte. the 03 i used to have was side post.

it just seems the quality is really going down hill. this thing makes all kinds of noise, the ps pump makes noise now that its cold, i had to take it back for a structure noise and they couldnt find. if you get 4 people in it it makes this weird noise. i wish i could have found a decent 03-04

Sorry to hear about the problems with the 07. I have strayed away from new GMs for a sense that they are assembling parts, not designing cars. With the BK, I was hoping GM would get back to designing cars, but with a investment banker as CEO, I suspect GM is not elevating the foundation of its design. GM is putting a lot of cosmetics and bells and whistles in its new models, but I don' sense the passion in overall engineering.

How I wish GM would of hired the BMW CEO to run things........

Gm had a issue with the side post terminal leaking acid and the whole lead piece coming out of the battery when battery was tried to be removed. Far as i know all gms are now using top post.

well i looked at the newer work trucks and all of them are top now, i dont like them because they get corroded way to quickly. the side posts would last most times the life of the battery. the top posts you have to clean every couple years. and the cover that goes over the positive hides the corrosion i found it was full of white stuff when i went to change it. never had a side post look like that or pull out. you just had to be careful not to popeye it

When i worked at the chevy dealer. We had quite a few side posts that had that problem. It was only the delco batteries that did it.

I'm working on blacking out my headlights, and possibly making clear/tinted corners

Travis, go start your own thread with the headlight project. I would like to see more details about this project of yours. If you have enough info and pictures, it could be put into the Techinfo section.
