What did you do with your car/truck or shop today? V2.0

This the filter I use at work. Prime Guard OF173. The picture above is a cross ref so you can not down your favorite brand.
Yeah if you take all the GM vehicles nowadays the GM trucks are the easiest to get at the oil filter. Try an Enclave/Acadia/Traverse/Outlook. RIGHT under the exhaust manifold on the left bank (front of vehicle). Talk about burning your arm. Then it drains all over the cradle and engine mount and is basically impossible to clean everything off. Don't know how many people come back to our dealer after an oil change complaining of a leak.
Today at work for me? Had a 2006 CTS-V for my first job, rattle in front end, right front sway bar link was out of it. Best part about that was getting to road test it twice.
Then had a Vibe for a serpentine belt that had just driven 50 miles for a 0.4 job, that wasn't so fun... then after that I get last nights tow in, 2008 Saturn Outlook AWD with transmission not shifting (I'm the lucky transmission specialist at our dealer). Hop in it, drives fine til 3rd gear (6T75E trans) then it'* like neutral. Ok, typical 3-5-R wave plate broke in a million pieces, but this one is different, it loses line pressure once it gets hot and sets a P0796 PC3 solenoid stuck off for the low reverse/4-5-6 clutch, never saw this one before.... Take it around the block, sure enough no 3rd, get half ways into the parking lot and it wouldn't move in any gear. Let it cool down and get a line pressure gauge on it. After about 3 minutes no line pressure. Rip the tranny out and tear it down. Sure enough, typical 3-5-R wave plate broke in about 3 trillion pieces. This one got into the gearsets and basically destroyed everything except for the final drive.
So I guess Monday I'll order a new transmission for it since it'* more expensive to fix than repair for GM, then cut the drivers floor out of it to repair the **** poor design cradle nut cage that always breaks and weld all that back together.
Oh well, another day in the flat rate GM powertrain warranty world...

Yeah no kidding... looking for a way out, the first chance I get I'll be off like a prom dress, believe me!
Love the trade, love fixing cars, but man when you take a car that'* 5 years old and 100,000 miles and pay me warranty rate (basically half of customer pay) the same as a brand new car that'* full of rust, and GM has absolutely sickening warranty rates to begin with, goodbye.
Hard enough to even break even on a brand new car, let alone an old 5 year old Canadian rust bucket that they pay you no more. If I could swear on here right now I'd be out of swear words!!
Enough of that, it'* the weekend, time to relax and continue having a few cold ones.
