I'm interested to understand why this keeps getting rescheduled.

First time was because I didnt have a lawyer with me the second was because my lawyer had another trial. I didn't expect him to bond me. I have a clean record. Its just that I have a mean judge and doesn't like the fact that I keep resheduling

I dont think that you need a lawyer in this case. You are just gonna spend more money than you want to. I got a 97 in a 65 speeding ticket in NH on my bike and the cop was a jerk, obviously cuz I was doing almost triple digits. He told me that I had to appear in court and would not get a ticket that had a dollar value because of the speed. So I had to show up to court just to say NOT GUILTY, then they gave me a court date where I had to defend myself against the cop that pulled me over. The ticket would have been $550 I found out and when I went the second time the cop talked with me and I told him I was a student paying for college and that I don't have any speeding tickets. He talked to the court magistrate and got the ticket reduced to $216. I was happy to pay.

The point is, you dont need a lawyer and the judge and the cop as well may get ticked if you keep rescheduling and not have any sort of leniency. Just my opinion. Good luck though

Pontiac1983, where the HELL have you been?

Sqela, I'm not getting this whole Lawyer thing either. Sounds a bit much for a traffic violation.

You're guilty. The sooner you admit that and starting saving up for your fine, the easier this whole process will be. If you (or your lawyer, who represents you) makes this inconvenient for the court... perhaps by rescheduling your appearance so many times? ...then the court will make it inconvenient for you. aka the "mean judge" that you have. :?

If you want any hope of a reduced fine/penalty, on Feb. 2 you need to go in there and "throw yourself at the mercy of the court" so to speak. Admit you were wrong, tell the judge you are very sorry and will be very conscious of your speed in the future, and request court supervision since this is your first offense. Don't try to make excuses or question the police officer'* integrity or tactics, that will only make the judge mad. (And you don't need a lawyer for any of this, you will only be padding HIS pockets then also.) If you get court supervision and don't get another ticket within the time frame they decide (usually 6 months to a year, and you might also have to go to traffic school), then the ticket gets dropped from your permanent record and insurance never knows about it. It might be called something else in your state, but this kind of offer is available through almost any Traffic Court in the nation. Good luck....

P.*. There'* no such thing as "innocent" in court, it'* called "not guilty". Innocent means you didn't do it, Not Guilty just means the court can't prove you DID do it. There is a difference.

The lawyer is a good friend of my dad and is doing it for free. I need all the help I can get. I managed to borrow 40 bucks from my dad. So I'm going head back out and pay the bond. The judge isn't the type to show any kindness whatsoever so begging and pleading isn't going to work for me. :(

Don't waste your energy begging and pleading. Use that energy to come up with the money to pay the ticket. You did the crime, got caught, now pay the dues. Very simple.

I'd say you have somewhat of a limited experience with this judge to make such a statement, unless you've been in front of him/her before (which I'd say is doubtful since you say this is your first offense). And begging and pleading would probably come across as insincere... I merely suggest admitting you're wrong and promising to do whatever is required to earn supervision instead of a conviction. Give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.

I found out the first court date, and today (the second date) still mean and most likely the third he will still be the same.

As for getting pulled over again that'* why I got myself a radar detector the day after I got pulled over
