Ah - thanks. I saw that one (even posted in it ).

I'm looking for fertilizer brands. Scotts is a bit pricey, and I have to think the money for all their commercials comes from somewhere (ummmm... like out of my pocket). On the other end of the extreme, you can get the low end stuff and end up with a bad case of fertilizer burn.

Just wondering if anyone has found a mid range (price wise) brand that does it'* job and doesn't kill my grass.

Getting back to the original topic (lol): I like to change patterns. One of my favorite is to follow the wavey pattern of the curbing. Did it on a whim once and when we looked from the patio the yard appeared to have dips and rises. It was a really cool optical effect.

Then I waxed my mower.

I change it up going in straight lines. I'll do one direction one week, then perpendicular that next, then diaganally the next. And it'* not to keep from getting ruts in the grass, it'* to make sure the grass doesn't get cut the same way every time. I don't know that I can tell a difference, but supposedly the grass will lay a certain way if you cut it the same direction all the time. So it'* better for the growth of the grass if you cut it differently. Or so I've read.

I do the same but not always the same direction. Sometimes its straight - , sometimes angled \ or /

I used to only ride the same pattern but started developing ruts from the tires always riding in the same place so now I mix it up...LOL
