lawn mower smokes alot

i got a old lawnboy lawn mower and its a 2 stroke and i added gas least week and now puts out a blue smoke all the time. i followed the direrction for mixing the gas and oil. i can per gallon. any ideas?

Unless that'* a really small can of 2cycle oil that sound like too much. Most are usually something like 1 can to 5 or 10 gallons of gas, I have yet to see one that is 1 to 1. Blue smoke indicates you're burning oil, so if the mixture is correct than you might have a bad piston ring or worse a bad cylinder.

its a nice mower too my mom bought it for me when i moved out on my own it is elf propled,side bagging, electric start(turn key and it comes on)sometimes. its a nice mower i dont want it to die but if it does im not gonna complain. i just wanna know what it is and how i can fix it if possible

i just went out to read the mix and i didnt see the 2 gallon. so it says mix i can of lawn boy oil via 2 gallons or gas
so what can i do just burn though the gas or what? will it hurt my mower if i continue to use this gas?

ok thanx fo the help ive planning on changing the plug ill do that after this tank of gas and on my next tank ill add gas or ill just buy a new tank cuz the one i got is crappy
