It takes me like 3 hours to mow my yard, and I don't even cut all of my land. That is with a 1973 John Deere 214 with a 46" cut. old as dirt, but still runs like a champ and finally cuts good also with some new blades

I mow the lawn in the same pattern that a Zamboni resurfaces the ice rink during the periods of a hocky game. Works really well for a self propelled walk behind mower.

Here'* a slightly off topic - what brand/type of fertilizer/weed & feed do you all use, and how often do you put it down? I used to have a thick green lawn.... but let it go. It'* not like it'* an overgrown mess of weeds now, but needs some TLC.

Yeah, I've been through a couple of those services.... can't say I was impressed. Some kid comes out for 2 minutes a month, runs across my yard like he was in the indy 500... then I get a notice saying, "You know, you really should buy this and that"..... I've found (when I used to do my own lawn work, or for that matter, any lawn work at all) that I got better results doing it myself. Plus a bit more satisfaction/contentment.
