Thats a helluva lot better than a flat wall, I've seen them acid washed on inside and stained with pigmeted sealer. they really look sharp!

Right on, well you can give the inside a more classical look by having the masonry pattern on the inside. Good luck with the construction. Post up more pics as framing happens!

There is one other house in the subdivision like ours, which we actually tried to buy, but someone beat us to the punch. So we're building another. Like a dork, I'm modeling it in 3D. I've got the first floor done, but mirrored. We thought we were gonna mirror the house to begin with.

That IS a very interesting foundation...Never seen that before! So...do they just slap two of those together with nothing in the middle? I've seen the poured concrete foundations...and the ones with the pink insulation...but never a prefab concrete design before. Interesting!

Good luck with the build! Have fun with it!

No Tracy, that really is a poured foundation, just with patterned forms. I like it, even though I'm not much of a fan of exposed block/cast walls inside basements. Too cold and damplike...brrrr.

House looks really nice though! There'* something about having a house built just for you that is appealing to me, even though I am aware of the potential drawbacks.

Give us an occasional update, will ya?

Boy do I miss having a basement...

I'm not sure how prefab it was, they just lined the things up, and poured concrete in, as far as I can tell. They were held together by weld tabs, I think. They cut them off to remove the forms and were laying all over the place.

Those are the exact same specs of the house I just bought in DE a few months ago. Only its already built. Thinking about a bigger place already...but I am happy with my $550.00 a month mortgage for now.

Your plave is coming along...wish mine had a basement like your though.

$550 a month? Did you do a 70% down payment or what? My payment with just 3% down is going to be a TON more than that.
