I saw it. Definatly not an "entertainment" movie (which I don't think anyone expected it to be), but it made you think. Yes, it is very violent, but historicly the whole thing was violent, so if you are going to make it accurate then that'* gonna be the case. I've seen a few different movies that show the same sequence of events, and I think this came, by far, the closest to being true to the actual way it went. Subtitles aren't a problem, espcially if you a familiar with the story. And, as previously stated...it is in no way a kids movie.

I saw it yesterday. I am not a religious person, but am somewhat spiritual. I was raised as a non-practicing Lutheran and while I was married, I was sort of an E&C Catholic. I still felt that I needed to see it to help me understand some things.

Granted, the people I went to see it with were both Born-again Christians, so they had a different outlook on it than I did, but we were all numb when we left. It is worth seeing. Much of the movie is disturbing, but it was difficult to turn away. If you do see it, go with someone and also give yourself some time to decompress afterwards.

On another note, I did not feel that the movie was anti-Semetic. I found myself hating the individuals that were calling for the cucifiction and doling out the punishment, but it did not make me hate groups of people. One of the things that many people need to realize is that, in these times, this punishment was handed out to many. Also, the mob mentality played a large roll in His crucifiction. That is still true today whether you are talking about OJ or Scott Peterson.

It is very graphic. Also the Governor was not really that nice, he would sometimes crucify people without any form of trial. To speed up the deaths they would also break their legs. They mainly died from asphyxiation because it is very difficult to breath.

We were asked to empty out of the theatre about half way through because an old man started to have a seisure.

During the filming of the movie they accidently hit him when whipping him and took out a chunk of him. And the cross was not a prop it weighed 150 pounds. They had to pull him off the cross because he started having trouble breathing.

Very Good movie, definitley makes you think

Acually it takes very little for me to think.
I think about all kinds of different things throughout the day(not those things thank you , at least not all the time)

Ever wonder what will happen farther down the road with one little decision you make? I think that way all day.

I just got home from seeing it. I'm a born again Christian- been studying the God'* Word at school for a bunch of years now. (just so you know my bent) I understood the practicality of the Sacrifice that Christ made Himself, but to then see a picture of it. He was scorged so intensly because Pilot hoped it would be enough for the people to accept as due punishment- so he wouldn't have to kill him, so i knew it was bad, but holy cow... Mel Gibson said that in the movie it is his hands that put the nails in Christ'* hands- because he knows it is his sin that still puts Christ there. the Jews didnt' kill Jesus. First of all, He gave His life. Second of all, it was ME that required Him to do so. Everytime i sin, i am one of those with the wips. Thats how much my God loves me.
