I'm pleased with the way this topic is going. It had the potential to turn sour very quickly.

Although I'm not a particularly religious person (I do have my beliefs), I do intend to see this movie. Mel Gibson has a knack for producing and directing EPIC masterpieces. I'm very impressed with his acting and directing. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

No, Swahili. And they give you an English-Swahili dictionary when you buy your tickets.

Saw it yesterday . . . er . . . . Friday. VERY violent. It will seriously mess you up regardless. Almost 2 hrs of non stop violence. DO NOT TAKE KIDS!!!!!!!! Not much to read, just a sentance or 2 now and then. What tells the story is the violence not the dialogue. When the movie was over everyone left the theater speachless. I've never seen that.

There are some interesting things to consider even if you are not religious (ie historical perspective). I'm not really sure if the movie is good or bad. If you do not care for Jesus as a spiritual or historical figure, I would not recommend going. If you are even slightly Christian (no matter the particular flavor), you will be moved or in my case . . . . . . . I really can't put into words the way I felt leaving the theater.

PS the language that is spoken throught the movie is Aramaic, the language that was spoken by Jesus and others in that region at the time. The Romans in the move are speaking Latin.
