I just watched one happen over greyhare'* shoulder.

We're fully malware/adware protected behind some pretty beefy stuff at HP here. There are popups. There are far too many to be simply explained away as malware. This is greyhare'* WORKSTATION that never leaves the HP network.

No pop ups?
I have seen the pop up blocked flag a few times so, I decided to turn off the blocker and had this:

This computer is behind the corporate firewall of one of the largest technology companies in the world. This computer is protected by the best enterprise anti-virus and anti-malware available. (Local machine and network.)

IT security monitors the network, so there is no sneaking off to one of "those" sites. (If you want to keep your job anyway.)

Advertising companies are not known for their integrity and will add "enhancements" you did not ask for.

Note the ONLY window he has open that could have generated it is IE with BC on it.

i have yet to see any pop ups, and im generally on here 6+ hours a day, im turning my pop up blocker off for the time being to see if i can get anything.

I have never seen a popup here, even when I'm at work and have only IE6 and no popup blocker software at all.

The popups are very infrequent and random.

Aha! That'* the same popup in the same location that I got. Back to Google Adsense text-only ads? Yes? Please?

No chance. AVG'* full internet security package. Firewall, Web Shield, Resident Shield, Link Scanner, Email Scanner, System toolkit, and Anti-Everything.
Virus, Spy ware, Mal ware, Root-Kits, Spam, the works.

Scans every Tuesday. There'* about as much chance of an infection on mine as there is of me getting Anthrax.

I just got another popup. I clicked on the Random weekend photoshoot thread link in Your Ride and got this:
