This site is here as a service to us. The members make the site a great place to hang out, learn, ask questions, and get anwers from those who've "been there, done that"
A few ads don't change that. The owner has a right to make money off HIS forum, nothing'* free these days and I can think of many things more annoying than ads in a forum.

I spent many days here looking for solutions to problems because i couldn't afford to have someone else fix them so this free service is worth the ads to me. besides, there are many tools to block them if you so wish. it literally is what you make it i suppose then

I have a pop up blocker so that I don't get any pop ups.
A few bad experiences has tought me not to click on ads, so they are wasted on me anyway.
Most of the forums I hang out on are of the free hosting variety, you want ads, you got LOTS of ads everywhere you look. I'm used to ignoring them.
With or without ads, this forum ROCKS.

Some of the hostility is too much and unfounded. You guys dont realize how expensive it is to pay for bandwidth and have space to host a website with the amount of traffic that a site such as BC gets...
As long as the advertising CAN be avoided (ie, it stays at the bottom, no pop-ups, and not intrusive in ANY WAY) then im ok with it. Making the ads relevant to the content of this site is a plus. But the man'* gotta pay for this place one way or another. Lets face it, hosting a high-traffic website ain't cheap.
