I have a 02 Sierra 4x4 that I am buying rims and tires for. I have already decided that I will buy 17x8 rims. Now I need to know what size tires will fit on my truck without installing a lift kit. I know 265/70 17 will fit but can I go any bigger to a 285/75 without any rubbing? Any recommendations will be helpful.

i think you could go 285/75 thats only 33". if you get over that the problem comes from having to change gears and pcm change. probably looking at a grand if you cant do it yourself. and if you dont the trans isnt going to be right and obviously the speedometer

Darry are you able to post pics of your truck. I'm getting ready to buy the tires and I'm trying to decide if I should go with the 285s or if they will look too big.
