1999 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4
Is there a way to bypass the security system in this specific make and model and year of truck? When I brought the truck home after purchasing it there were some minor repairs. The truck was in running condition. Here is what I have done so far uptodate. I replace the front hub, replaced spark plugs, put in a new fuel filter and also replaced with a brand new battery from one that was weak.
Upon doing all of these repairs my truck will not start. The security system is now turned on and I would like to turn it off or bypass it somehow. When I pour gas directly into the carb, the truck will start but it will idle very rough and then die. I am pretty sure it does have something to do with the security system. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

now it sounds like you have a aftermarket alarm screwing things up. a 99 new body style should start and shut off a couple seconds later if vehicles security is bad and the light blinks. thats it. the other stuff means something else is wrong. possibly bad ign, or aftermarket alarm
