I'm trying to locate a cat converter for my truck, code reads po 420, dealer item only. However they want $1900. for part only has anyone had this replaced with aftermarket cat and if so were was it purchased ...2002 sierra 1500 sl, 2 wheel drive, 4.3 litre Ca. any info would be appreciated..need to smog....

You shoudl be able to use those aftermarket cats listed above. Then just find a local muffler shop and have them weld it in. Might cost about $50 to $100 to have it done.

I called this morning and they do not make one for california..I appreciate the info. Looks like I will have too spend the 1900. after all.
