I took the bonneville to a shop today, the one i just got the job at doesnt deal with auto trannys, however they do deal in ordering parts for them and what not, and the manager there said the one mechanic he has who is on vacation is an automatic tranny guy..so being on staff, i could probally have him look at it.

So off to another shop i go, a good EXTREAMLY reputable shop. The one tech comes with me, he drives it, it was doing a bit of its usual slip (or so i thought). He explained to me how to him, its not slipping , it almost feels like a dead spot in the engine. He also said these cars are hard on tourque converters and that the TCC slip would make sense to him at my mileage. He asked if i could drop it off in a week or so and get them to take a good look at it to really figure it out.

do you happen to have a camera? maybe you can shoot some video, and maybe one of the veterans might know what it is.

I would tend to lean more towards his TCC comment rather than the dead spot in the engine...

Could be simply a sticking solenoid.

i would agree with the TCC issue.. thats what mine was...but since you have to take the tranny out to swap the convertor...my dad just wanted to replace the whole tranny...
