Bill, should I run any Lucas addititve, or anything else? Its behaving again..run it in normal mode or perform mode...car is parked this winter until May..when i sell lol
Also to flush it, can I just remove both inlet and outlet tranny cooler lines, have the inlet sucking the fluid in as the outlet lets it out? or no

The lucas may help to break up varnish and deposits. Run it for 1000km or so, then do a professional flush. Get that fluid out of there. That dark stuff is friction material, and it'll breed more.

I beat the **** out of my trans for 7k miles. Floored it 80% of the time, dropped the pan once and can proudly say it shifts without a slip. And those say the 80E is not any beefier than the 65E -- LMFAO.

Auroradude, Matt doesn't have a 4T65E. He has a much more reliable 4T60E(HD) which probably has far more miles on it than your 80 will ever see.

Young people like me tear up their transmissions more. Its expected. My friend Rocko went through 3 trannies on his trans am. And 2 of those were seriously beefed. Drop another $1800, on your way home and never regrets a thing.

I expect to go thru 1 transmission on this car, but I am going to see if i can get 100k out of thiso ne.

BTW...i do not drive my car like that every day. Usually just thurs & fridays whenever all of the boys decide to loiter cars at wendys for a swap meet. Thats when i race the most and floor it all the time for like 2 hours straight. I ran through my whole tank of Ultra 94 in an hour doing that once.
