I'm back! I drove all the way to the garage door of Triple Edge Performance! This Bonneville is so solid! I really miss driving it...
The plan now is actually to do a full-on rebuild with the 3EP high performance setup plus an HD differential and an upgraded input shaft. I'm going to have so much fun with the new 3.29 FDR! Can't wait!

It'* done! Dave just called! It'* all back in & running!
I was talking to Paul from PRJ, and he told me that for my build he would recommend a single chain. So I called Dave at 3EP, left him a voicemail message asking if it'* reasonable to swap out chains months after a rebuild, and he called back saying that as he was about to put together the transmission, he got my voicemail; also, he had a chain right there in his shop. I decided to opt for the 7/8" single chain.
I have everything on Dave'* list of the high performance build plus a hardened input shaft and a single 7/8" chain.
I'm going on Tuesday to pick it up!

I'm back! My SLO is back at my house! It'* so awesome!
Dave, from 3EP, says that the welded-solid front trans mount made the car vibrate too much, but I wasn't sure about that since it was fine for me. Then he mentioned that actually it had vibrated so much that the bolts were loose. He put threadlock on them and tightened them into place. When I got in the car, yes, I noticed the vibration. It'* definitely time to come up with a safer solution to the front trans mount thing. I'm going to make a custom mount set to get rid of the torque axis mount and change the passenger side dogbone, which has been eaten away at by a persistent oil leak from the rear valve cover.
The car is otherwise sound! I enjoyed my CD player, cruised calmly, and enjoyed the little blip of greatness I get when I simply press the throttle from a stop. The thing about the new drive ratio is that the car just lurches forward with such greater ease that it'* like it has quite a few more mods! Can't wait to put on more stuff!
