New transmission
I've arranged to drop off the 99 SLO at Triple Edge Performance on the 12th. It's going to have a rebuilt transmission with all sorts of upgrades, including a 3.29 FDR with a 4T65E-HD differential and such. It will be awesome!
The way I'm getting it there is I will start driving it from Indianapolis and up I-69 toward Ft Wayne. If the transmission blows up, I'll get it towed. The thing is that I have AAA with their sub-100 mile free towing package. I'm about 110 miles away, so any headway is headway! |
haha nice plan. I like it. Dang I work on the 12th or I'd see if ya wanted to meet up in Ft Wayne
|
We could meet up when I go to get it. That would make for a much better meet anyway, don't you think? Then we could cruise around. I'll see if my local GP forum has some people available for the pickup date, which I don't yet know.
|
Alright let me know the pickup date when you find it out. I start classes again monday though so not sure if I'll be available

Is it any better or cheaper to get the transmission rebuilt or drop in the GM transmission from the dealer. My local dealer has the tranny for a little under $2000 not including labor. 3 year 100000 mile warranty.

Mike Gm in fort mcmurray refused to install a tranny on my brothers 06 GP because he's heavily modded lol |
The Triple Edge Performance transmission has a 1-year, 15K-mile warranty. It's a whole lot better to have that put in because it's the same price but you get better parts. Have a look at the parts list of the 4T65E High Performance Street/Strip model:
