Question...

I was just reviewing the topic and I saw the wiring harness in the pictures posted earlier, so The hole thing unplugs from the fire wall?!

Also, would it be advisable to pull the trans with it the motor now? Dad wanted to just pull the motor for now deal with it and come back to the trans later. and will the trans hold its own weight or does it have to be supported?

Either way its coming out today, the engine at least. I have only prepped it for the motor to come out so far.

Trans can stay. The engine hoist point in the rear has two points...one with trans, one without. Forgot which is what though.

Yes, the whole thing can be unplugged @ the firewall. Makes for reharnessing the engine a much simpler affair

Got her out and started the teardown!

One thing though, Brad, I am still missing a Trans Bolt. You said you didn't put the PITA Backwards bolt back in since we would be pulling it again (And I thank you for that) and I have that bolt. But the next bolt up was also missing, which I dont have... :?

Guess I should wait for page 11 for the pics though eh?

There are two dowel pins in the holes that look like a bolt should go there, but doesn't. I'm certain I put all of them back w/ the exception of the PITA.

Sorry

Im done for tonight, found some interesting things. Once we get to the next page i'll describe what we found in more detail and get some pictures posted here. But the biggest thing is we found a good bit of junk on the oil screen and a bunch in the pan, not metal, just gunk. So it looks like this one starved for oil as well.

Did you get a look at the oil pressure gauge driving it on or off the ramps?
