I'd believe it that the truck would easily keep up with both the GXP and Merc. The 6.0 is a torque monster, so 5000 lbs means nothing to that engine.

I doubt it, the Merc would win.
I disagree. My old roomate had a newer Merc and was looking into what it would take to make a Maruader. His car, even though the stats said it was quick, would get wasted by my '95 SSEI every time without a question. The performance upgrades he would need to do to make his engine spec with the Maruader were minimal. He had the 4.6l in his already, just not the same heads, tune, or whatever it was he found different. Never driven a GXP so I can't compare that, but in relation other things I would say the Maruader is more show than go.

I have seen a few on the roads around here and none were really taking off. Guess that might be because of the senior citezens that were driving them (I mean that too).

I can assure you that those stats are conservative when listing the 0-60. I wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as 6.8.
That'* a stretch to me, yes they're torquey, but they're so damn heavy...

Well, Next chance I get I'll scan my truck while doing a 0-60 run and tell you what it actually is.

Magazine times show that the Marauder is about as fast to 60mph as a V6 Honda Accord Sedan (it'll be WHOOPED by the coupe with the 6-speed manual). High sixes, low sevens. More like seven-flat, tops, with the Accord.

The Merc needed more power - it was otherwise a MEAN looking car.
