Default Alcohol Injection?

Okay, i know i have been a bad boy by doing this, but i have been purusing the Club GP boards to see what mods they all talk about and i keep seeing posts for "ALKY." First, i have my computer set up not to allow that sites settings (my firewall), and second judging by the tone on that board i would really rather not ask these questions there as they tend to be "mean".

What is this Alky? is it alcohol injection? what are the specifics? can we use it? where do i find kit? is it worth it? i have never seen a post here about it.

Methanol.

Do a search on 'water injection', with me as the author. Moving to forced induction.

okay, Willwren i looked at this http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...82&highlight=A
it didn't seem to be complete . . . how did it work out for you? i have a line a kit from someone on club GP that goes by "dvldoc." did you end up using the ethonol/methonol mix? how did you port it into your SC? dvldoc says i need to tap something, but i am waiting for some more info from him. this sounds like a very interesting way to reduce intake temp and allow for a smaller pulley.

That was my second or third system. I've ditched that for a simpler system for the track only. Using an Aquamist nozzle, but my own custom-built tank and delivery system. Still using pressurized air to deliver the water. It'* a work in progress, but it works. The nozzle is inside my air filter right now, and summer I'll be testing a 50/50 water/methanol mix.

You have to make some decisions (based on alot of research):

1. Do you want to inject post or pre rotor?
2. Are you interested in the cleaning effects, or just the intercooling effects?
3. How much money are you willing to spend?
4. How creative are you at fabbing? Is it better to simply buy a system?
5. Are you willing to live with the risks?

i have seen two kits out there already tonight - on by dvldoc and the other by coolmist. i am just waiting to hear some input from different people and i will continue to read/research about this.

i don't want to mess with removing too much stuff (i.e. SC).

The main reason i am looking into this is for the possible gains in power and 1/4 mi times. if the claims are true and this kit works i may get one. What is your experience with it? are there any verifiiable tests (actual test data) showing this stuff works or is it all word of mouth?

As far as making one myself, i always say why waste my time trying to invent something someelse already has. Now, i will improve on it if i see a way to though.

The kit that dvldoc from clubgp is great! So many ppl have tried it with real good results. Reducing kr. One guy had 6* of kr with a 3.4.......he added the progressive kit that dvldoc sells for 280 and changed the pulley size to a 3.2 and got 0kr. Dvldoc himself has tried a 3.0 pulley with minimal mods and has 0kr. There is so many info and so many ppl that have tried it. Just make a search over there in clubgp.
