Question Remote keyless entry RKE module location?

Hi,

I have an 09 Malibu ls with a 2.4 l

My doors don't lock anymore. I brought it to the garage thinking it needed reprogramming, but the mechanic said that it was the rke receiver that failed. I would like to know if anyone on here knows where this module is located so I can replace it myself. I realise that it'll need to be programmed, but I'm sure it'* cheaper than 2 hours labor.

They wanted 2 hours labor plus the part

Probably an hour cheaper. My humble advice: It'* at least an hour of labor just to program it. What you'd save for all of your effort is an hour of labor, and you add the potential that you'd hand it to someone to program and the module you installed would be wrong somehow (costing you more labor).

Found this:

Was this a GM garage? Did they test the remote(*)? Did they use a Tech II to command the door locks?

This module is controlled by the BCM....Did they check for "B" codes?
