The cruise control on my 2002 la sabre has suddenly died. I don't know how to even begin trouble shooting for the cause. This is the first car I've ever had that had this problem. That may be because it'* the first car I've ever had with 265,000 miles on it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Scan for codes.

If you don't have a code scanner, most parts stores will be able to do it for free.

Is there any other symptoms or issues that you are noticing?

Does this vehicle have steering wheel controls?

If yes, press and hold the on/off switch....then get above 25 mph and hit the set button...if it works, you need a new on/off switch....

No codes yet. However, one thing I have learned with this car is that sometimes problems show up before a code shows up. Thanks rjolly

Yes it does have steering wheel controls and the cruise is illuminated. I tried your suggestion but didn't work. Thanks anyway. All ideas appreciated.
