The stock numbers here have been verified. And I've personally driven one of those cars, as well as a Black '05 GXP. I like the looks of the GXP, but not impressed with the performance.
Even my '93 runs better than a 15.5 stock GXP time, and with relatively few mods. I gaurantee Ryan'* 98 (which I personally verified as bone stock and drove) would kill a bone stock GXP.
My personal opinion is the 'look' of the GXP went in the right direction, but not the powertrain.

You know I felt like my friends SSEI had more power off the line than my GXP but thought it was just a lighter car. I added a k&N filter and actually notice more power but still not pull I felt in the SSEI. I assumed it was in my head. Could my car be slower due to the bigger rims?

if you take the 97+ SSEi against the 2000+ SSEi and they are both bone stock....the 97+ SSEi will spank the 2000+ over and over. The 2000+ gives up about 400+ pounds to the 97+
and your GXP prolly is the same as the SSEI myabe even a little heavier

No doubt that the stock GXP is faster than a comparative SSEi.......6.5 versus 7.3 second 0-60. The road feel of the two, however, is far different. The SSEi had a faster-off the line power to it, since the torque of the 3.8 is at a low RPM. The GXP, since it uses a N* , has a more patient acceleration feel . It feels slower, but really isin't .
It'* not much heavier than a SSEi , and there really isn't anything to add. New engine and tranny, maybe. And the rims might be lighter than the SSEi'* stock chrome-plated rims.
