I finally did it! 1500w rms! - Page 8 - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Stay away from the Raptor brand wire. They like to use huge insulation and skimp on the copper. IIRC the 1/0 was closer to 4 gauge?

Some highly regarded OFC wires in car audio are Kicker HyperFlex, Stinger HPM, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, to name a few.

Hyperflex and Fosgate are amazing wires. I wasn't thrilled with JL for the price, and I've never seen Stinger in person.

Knukonceptz is also really good wire, if you get their OFC wire.
I've also heard good things about the welding wire you can get from coppercableman on ebay, but have never seen it in person.

I have welding wire from welding supply .https://weldingsupply.securesites.co...:OR:terms::PA2.

It is good for the money. Not as thick as normal car audio 1/0 (which is normally oversized), but it'* true 1/0 according to specs.

I'd buy welding cable over Raptor or some other brand wire. Like someone said, it'* not truly 1/0 but just has really thick insulation.

Yeah, I am. Name on most other forums is R_Mac_1. I don't get on there as much as I used to, though. I get on CACO more often.
