well. its a pain in the butt taking off those panels. there is a ring that comes with the kits that go under the speaker and the cover goes on top. Its the spacer the kit gives you. insted of the speakers mounting in the doors thay mount on the panels and i just put the spacer between the panel and the speaker. it had matching holes for both the panel, and smaller hole in it for self drilling screws to hold the speakers. it'* the first kit ive ever installed that had those kind of spacers. I will get a pic soon, on a warm day, when i have time on my hands. i hate taking off the door panels.

maybe you can find a picture online...so you dont have to take one
