Default Adapting 4x6 fronts to 6 1/2"

Possible? I was chatting with some guys at work and they said it would be a no brainer for MOST CARS. Now, does the Bonneville fit under "most cars"?

let me get this right, you want to put 4*6 inch speaker where 6.5inch speakers are supposed to go?

IMO that is DUMB. 4*6 speakers cant perfrom anywhere 5.25 inch speaker let alone 6.5.

They didn't. Only thing I can think of (if it is an SSE/Ei) is somehow the interior panels got damaged and the only available replacments were the oval types.

Petra, check your RPO codes...kinda curious on this

Ummmm..... :? why??? 4x6'* can't perform anywhere near the standards of a 5.25 or a 6.5....if u were going the other direction i'd say cool....but I have no advice for ya right now!! :(

Hmmm....maybe he is thinking about the 4x6 plates like Infinity has...incorporates a 4" driver and separate tweeter, which is a viable option if he has the 4x6 speakers stock.

Oh, sorry. I was at best buy and I looked up what my front door speakers were. It said 4x6. My question was if someone had cut the surrounds to make it a 6 1/2", not shrink it. But if I do have 5 1/4, I guess that'* not a problem
