Default ticking at wot

last night as i was leaving a friends house,
i was at about 25mph, hit it to wot, and let off at 45mph,
there was a nice backfire, like normal, but then wen i went to hit it again,
there was a light ticking coming from the car,
no effect on performance,
but it sounds like i blew a gasket, or a flange..
idk wat it could be,
and my buddy who is a mechanic couldn't figure it out either..

aghh my car is falling apart all at once : /

if you think you blew a gasket, i would start by checking the compression on all the cylinders.
