Pull down on the boot, then you will see the clip on the front of the handle. Pull out with a pick or small screwdriver then the handle will lift off.

Yea, its VERY common apparently. If you search "shifter lights" several threads come up in relation to it. The fix is very easy, and the bulb can be found at AutoZone or the like.

Yeah I got tired of my bulb burning so i went and bought a LED for it. I havent had any troubles since.
