Default whitch way does this go in

I have a 95 se about a week ago my belt broke and it took out what looks to be a check valvein the lower heater hose. my question is that it has an arrow on it. does the arrow point to the heater core or the eng. :?

Thanks John

it would be logical to assume it points the direction the coolant flows. im gonna say to the heater core if it is coming from the water pump <or even the drive belt area>. i will let a gearhead confirm this though

The arrow on that piece on my '95 SLE points toward the heater core, away from the engine. And my heater and cooling system work OK, so we can guess that mine is installed correctly.
