Default Pioneer 6x9'* 3 way or 4 way

I am helping a friend who owns a 97 Bonneville install a sound system. For the back speakers which sound better, 3 way or 4 way pioneer 6x9'*? I can get both for about the same price, so that isn't an issue. Also what kind of speakers would you recommend for the front speakers?

I got a set of 6940 4-ways and love 'em. I probably would have been happy with the 3-ways too, but like you say the price was about the same for either pair.

I'd go with the 3 way pioneers. 4 way speakers are often too harsh.

Those "ultra tweeters" are kinda worthless IMHO.

3 way is fine, 4 way is geting in the way of the woofers too much usually.

What'* wrong with good 2 ways?

I have the 3 ways in my bonneville and at first i wasn't impressed at all. They were hooked up to a Kenwood, but about two weeks ago i installed an Eclipse CD player and now they are AWESOME. I'm thinking the 3 ways for my friend, but if anyone thinks 4 ways would be better speak up please!!

Hahahaha....I agree, you guys can't be buying speakers based on how many 'ways' it is. Buy it based on sound quality.
