I had to take my wife, who is the ripe old age of 26, to the hospital on Tuesday for a hysterectomy. Yep, they had to yank her uterus and one ovary. Fortunately, we have one awesome little boy, who is 20 months old now. Her uterus was tilted so bad, it was folded in half, and her endometriosis came back. She was ALWAYS in excruciating pain. Right now, she'* suffering the pain of the incision and surgery, but the inside pain is gone. That'* a relief at least. I'm only 29, and I never expected to be a supporter of this type of surgery already. But we didn't plan on having any more kids, and if we do, we were going to adopt anyway. And the pain'* gone. So it'* all good. Just thought I'd let y'all know, it'* not always age-determined when it goes.

yeah she is WAY to young for that but hey you gotta look at it this way... at least shes not in pain any more. cause im sure that wasnt real pleasant for her to be in pain all the time and it wasnt real pleasant for you watching her be in pain and not being able to help.

Its nice to know that your beloved wife is going to be OK. Dealing with any physical pain of that magnitude is not easy.

You have been blessed with one child. Imagine how lucky an adopted child would be if you opened your doors to him/her.

As one hand closes another hand opens. Good luck to you and your wife, I wish for her a speedy recovery

I wish for your wife to have a speedy recovery as well. I say the same that your blessed that you have one child as well. Unlike myself, I don't have any. The 1st would have been 4 and the other 3 months. Oh well. Sorry.

My ex went through that when she was 29. We had our second (and last child) already, anyway, but it was still a tough, painful time. Wait on her hand and foot. She'll always remember this time, and there needs to be some good to go with it! Spoil the lady!

Well any adopted child is in a Bonnie family!

96AZSSEi - look at where you are now! You're a BC member.

Good luck though on the recovery etc.

Hey WildMan, get well soon to the missus.

Just so ya know, my wife had to have a total hystorectomy (they removed all her "girl parts") and she made it thorugh just fine. You will need to baby her for a bit, but afterwards evrything works asa well as it ever did. And no more "We can't do that because my Aunt Flo is in town" Now stuff like camping and fishing and road trips aren't interrupted for "woman things".

Don't think I'm making light of an awful situation. I know it is traumatic for both of you, but you gotta find the silver lining where you can...

Heheh, thanks!! Trust me, I have been waiting hand and foot. I think I got a total of one hour of sleep last night.

Now I can't have any for 4 whole weeks!!! At the end of four weeks I'll be like, "Hey, you okay now? Ready now? How 'bout now?? "
