i bought these yesterday, but are they 1 range colder? 605'* are what the book at walmart recommended for stock
I didn't know they were the stock grade, but Lil Jon on MNCGP uses them with his GTP that is modded more than alot of us, and say'* he'd suggest them over NGK'* -which he said aren't bad, just more expensive. I might consider NGK TR-55'* my next plug change to see if it effects anything.

shut up richard....do i need to start a poll

EDIT

here is a vid of how my engine occationally starts up... pretty bad... you can really hear it in the beginning...sorry its dark out

hopefully the tuneup items above will fix it

Damn.... I don't like the way that starts.... Does it do that all of the time?

Next time before you start it cycle the ignition on and off several times, giving it long enough for the fuel pump to stop.. Then try and start it...

Got a fuel pressure tester? Lets rule things out 1 by one here..

What have you done so far?
like i said before....it starts like that occasionally...like once every 10 times... usually after it had just ran, and had about a 20 min break...

dad checked vacuum leaks, other than that...havent done much... its never done the problem in front of him, so its hard to diagnos it...hopefully the vid will show him..
I'm leaning towards FPR on this one....Almost identical to what my car does....especially if it'* really warm.

tune up is tomorrow

stuff i have ready=dads fuel pressure tester...

used coil pack from marty
new o2 sensor
autolite 605 copper
taylor red 8mm wires
180* drilled tstate
oil pressure sending unit
pcv valve
fuel filter

i had a though today that maybe the crankshaft sensor would be causing this bad idle? but i guess we will see after the tune...

update on tranny...its fucked....

from a 20 roll, turning left is pure slippage....while right is fine...

from a stop, total bog, slipping 20% of the time...

not gonna mess with it anymore.....just waiting on nates tranny...

Andy...that sucks on the tranny...sorry to hear it. At least Nates donating a good one....there'* a plus.

I was up with my buddy the mechanic tonight. Borrowed his Snap on Scanner and when he'* showing me how to do it (like a 5 year old couldn't figure it out was the look I was giving him) he checks codes. P670 quad 4. He says... the computer is on it'* way out usually when quad 4 comes up. He worked at Pontiac for like 10 years til about 98. He knows our cars very well. We cleared my code...I start car..it idled like crap til I put it in gear and has been fine since...20 minute drive no new code.

Yours kept coming back right? DAn was saying that quad 4 is the sympton the computer registers when it'* checking out and it'll misfire etc BADLY usually when computer puking and quad 4 come up. Plus side is he also told me two other things. First...he'll fix your car for you...but then he said something about $900 ...I think the beer was talking. Secondly he said last time he bought a new computer...brand new it was only about $85.

Sorry if it ends up right...but at this point I bet you'd accept an $85 fix.

Holy crap...I forgot to mention the turn off for a second thing. He said that too...and I think it would happen when the quad 4 code set. Basically exactly as you described.

If you guys send a ticket...I'll send him out there. Just hope the tranqulizers work good

Since my overheat when the water pump to intake tube (that stupid plastic one under the SC) broke and I ignored my already fluttering gauges. I flinch badly everytime I hear that stuipid ding ding ding... cause I ignored it that day assuming the pcm was monitoring the gauges not actual inputs. Luckily gut reaction said...if the gauges are messed up and the dinger is dingin it'* worth a quick stop and look under the hood, even though it could throw of the gas mileage...lol
