I agree....But it is his car....I wonder if he ran it WAY low when he blew a line or something and maybe burnt out a solenoid?

The plugs alone wouldn't cause what I felt. It would be more consistant acroos the gears if it was plugs.

To get back on the performance, since I'm a tranny dummy on these babys. I have also heard these cars can be a pain in the butt once you drop in platinum plugs. (Don't ask, it doesn't make any sense). Like most here, I'm pretty friendly with my parts guys. One had a 95 Riviera w/SC and his calls for the Delco Iridium plugs. I went with those and the car is ripping the pavement up on regular octane.

And now that I know what KR is I'm probably a retard for using regular!

well i drove to the cities again today to have nates tranny god look at mine...

he drove it, and knew what he was talking about. we scanned it and got 3 codes this time

1670 Quad 4 module
1406 EGR Pintle Position
P0172 Fuel Trim Rich

he said the quad 4 is not tranny related, but it needs to be fixed before anymore work should be done. he gave me some copies out of the FSM, but gordy, can you email me all those six or so pages we had looked at?

as far as the other codes? they didnt show up saturday when we checked, so im gonna disconnect the battery tonight and have autozone check em again.

the tranny guy said, in his honest option, it is not the tranny going bad, just some electronics somewhere not telling it what to do at the right time. i agree with this.

also planned is another HUGE tuneup. new 8mm wires are on the way.
where should i order my plugs? zzp? NGK 55??

durings gordys scan my O2 was working just fine, but this 0712 Fuel trim rich code makes me wonder, may as well replace that also...i get terrible milage, like 220 miles to a tank.

any more thoughts?

I believe NGK TR-55'* ARE platinum'*. I could be wrong -I used them on my 1999 SSEi and wasn't aware of any problems.
I would suggest getting something like Autolite 605'* (available at Wal-Mart for $1.97 for two) and gapping them at .055-.057" (as per Nate'* suggestion). They're cheap, and will suit you well -they're the same as what I run now, and what alot of the GTP guys run without problem.
Also, if you are interested I have a spare Ignition module with coils here that I bought just to use the mounting bracket off of -it'* yours for $15 (includes shipping and can have it to you by Friday).
You might also get a new PCV valve, and fuel filter if you haven't changed these yet.
Also, if you are getting a new oxygen sensor be sure to get a AC-Delco unit -you know what'* been said of the other brands.
