There'* something we are missing. I know this and can't think of what it is.. We've chatted a lot on this and here'* what I'm thinking.

I'd say try another knock module, but it'* not false knock. False knock doesn't destroy rod bearings. It pulls timing and would only make the car gutless.

HB/Flex, they can both be bad and they 99% never cause an engine failure.

Tune.. the smallest little goofy table can cause us issues if another setting is even slightly out of whack. There are tables we can 't see that do change stuff. I'm leaning this way, except you've changed back to many other tunes. I haven't seen your email of your tune yet. I've got my laptop in the car and I should have time. Get that tune to me. I can compare to my 97 and 99 tunes to see what may be off.

Motor: no way you have had three bad motors. Not when they've all been good runners then poof they go belly up.

After our last PM, I'm going to look at that front trans mount. Something small is the problem here.

False knock only robs you of power though. It will not cause bad bearings.

If we reason it out that way, it'* not mounts, it'* not pcm, it'* not HB or flex. It could be cam. Come to think of it..I killed my first motor on the engine stand because I had the crank unbolted and ready to come out. Because I was going to change the cam bearings. A friend had told me to do that because he had seen knock from worn cam bearings. While I doubt you could have bad bearings in three motors, maybe the cam is a little worn and causing the oil pressure to drop as it wears a cam bearing, then the lower end doesn't have enough oil...see ya rod bearing.

Ya, the mount made no difference. I think I'm pulling this engine again and that cam is coming out before it damages anything else.

If, that'* the issue. That'* the thing..when you have a problem (I call this a Bill type problem) that no one can seem to figure out.. it'* tough to say what the fix will be.

Is your oil pressure still very good?

Oil pressure is still a nice 68-69 and holding steady.

It'* a mater of tracking down the problem. One step at a time. I had already told myself the cam could be the problem, was hoping it wasn't. But I have removed every other possibility. Not the tune, not the harmonic, not the flex plate, not me making a mistake, not this, not that. After removing everything, all that can be left is the problem. And all that is left is the cam, and the transmission.

Well, after a long phone call with Bill, involving a few police cars. I have decided it'* time to pull the engine again. Bill and I went threw every last set, every part, every possibility. And only one part remains. The cam. Every other part on this engine is different, even the lifters and push rods have changed. I will be putting in a stock cam and seeing if that corrects the problem. If so, I will be shipping the cam off to Bill who has someone that can test it and perhaps answer why this is happening. So expect more pictures as I pull the engine, again. 2.5 hours last time, aiming for 2 hours this time. However, might not go that fast because I still don't have a working face.
