I had what sounds like the samething. If it is, dont even mess around with it. I did and ended up putting the differential through the case coulda saved a few bux if I just had it towed to the shop to have them look at it. Instead I went listening around under there revvin it to see if I could find the noise. You could have broken something in there. The tranny guy said abuse is one cause of it and if the warranty company feels the same way they may not wanna help you out. hope this isnt your problem mine cost me $2500. I could be completely wrong here but this was my experience

Probley a dumb question but did you by any chance spin your tires on wet roads? The reason I ask is because this could cause a ton of stress on your diff. more so if you happen to do in a turn. Hope im not freaking you out.

i havent spun my tires since last winter. but i was slowing down and i just heard it . but i drive to school tonight and everything seems to drive fine and the hum or howl is still their but it runs fine.

yeah the car shifts good. its probly a bearing that need to me lubed i know my alt does for sure but what kinda lube can i use?

You can also use a hort length of hose or tubing as a stethescope if it'll help you narrow it down. Got my fingers crossed that it'* something cheap and simple. A LeBaron is just too nice a ride to lose! trust me, I lost one...

Does your car have a harmonic stabalizer. something similar to my car happend with the outsite part of the harmonic stabilizer came off.
