OK, bumping this up because I brought the car home last night. Very good shape for the year, but the heater control really has me baffled. I had it working for a few seconds last night, it came on after I footed the fuse panel. what I mean is, I just bumped my foot around the fuse panel, and it turned on and worked fine. now, today, it'* off again, and I cant get it to come back on. Could the alarm/remote start be screwing things up? I think they might have wired the heater to it somehow. When I try to use the auto start, it starts, then runs for 5 seconds, the whole time the starter stays engaged, then it shuts off.

Here'* a thought on your heater/starting issue. When you said that your foot banged the heater perhaps leads to believe that there may be a connection problem (ground or power) of some sort. Then you said there was a remote start/alarm perhaps wired in the system somewhere? I would probably remove that system for the time being (not to throw it away) so you can put the car back to factory specs., find the heater control issue, then if you want that system on the car go to the manufacturers web site and get correct installation setup, simply because there may have been some fudging when it was originally installed and as you said could be getting some cross talk. Try that and see if it gets better.
