Something goin wrong on prom night is just tradition......I had my back window shatter 2 hrs before prom on my p/u......Put a new one in in about an hour and barely made it grand march in time.....whew.....Man it was close.

thanks guys but still no luck :( ................my friend did get under the car with a screwdriver and crossed the terminals on the starter and it cranked,but when you turn the key there is no power to the starter........still tryin :(

Did you do the screwdriver trick is the key in the on position? Did the car run then??

from what my automotive electrician told me, it'* possible that the wire that runs through the column for the VATS is broken. he said the wires are very thin, and with tilt wheel it'* quite easy to break them on an older car. i actually had mine bypassed (i know some of you guys frown on that!) so you might want to have the inner workings looked at by a professional

That was the trick................I took the steering column apart and yup the wire was broke at the end of the key cylinder soldered and new piece of wire on and away she went......listen thanks for all your help guys
