Well auto Zone culd test the charging system because the battery on their test equipment was dead (go figure!). i'll have that done some other time i guess. BUT i put in an Optima (red one...) and it fired right up! The cables look just fine, no corrosion. i just need to clamp it in place now, lack of tools while up at central.
