I found a wiring table on bulldog security that listed wire types and functions, the showed the heavy wire, about 10 gauge, carrying power. I didn't have to move any wires, just popped the cover off of the switch and then shorted between the copper lugs.

AutoZone should have my replacement switch in tomorrow. That'll replace the one I bought there that didn't work!

Keep us posted. What brand was the 'new' switch?

The 'new' switch that didn't work that replaced the 'old' switch that was possessed by demonic spirits was a Wells LS687. $16.99, but they don't stock them, at least not here in Northwest Ohio!

I just saw a note on the Autozone online store that it comes with a headlight dimmer switch. Maybe that'* the smaller module that mounts off to the side?

SUCCESS!

Picked up the new switch from AutoZone, took a little less than 10 minutes to get it installed and adjusted for key throw. The car lives! It is another Wells LS687, but it works!

Now middle son can finish putting the dash trim and skid plates on, and it can hit the road.

Thanks, everyone, for the help and encouragement!
