Default Shifter Button Won't Depress, Stuck In Park

Having an issue with the shifter button releasing after the car is parked. Twice in the past few days the button wouldn't depress to allow the car to shift out of park. Both times in was in the garage on a flat floor. Any ideas what is sticking/needs replaced?

Thanks,

Mark

I would check the brake switch. this write up should help. May be a little different but close enough. https://www.gmforum.com/electrical-133/tcc-solenoid-switch-284972/

Seems to be a physical issue in the button/shifter ****. I'll take it apart after work and see what I can find.

If the brake switch is bad, the button will not work. You can open it up and check the lever and mechanism.

Took off the shift **** and lubed the shaft with some spray silicone. Seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the advice and guidance.
